Blue Jays Micros Soccer 2014

Finley joined his first town rec league this fall, Micros Soccer.  He was on the sky blue team (later named the Blue Jays) with 2 girls from town and 2 boys from his class, Ben and Marty.

 Finley's coach, Damon, was great and all the kids had a great time warming up before each week's game.

 Finley loved his bright green cleats and chasing his shiny silver ball around.  We play a lot of soccer in the basement but that's mostly just shooting and defending goals, so it was awesome to see him on the wide open field.

 Every game ended with some high fives, cheers for both teams, and snacks (of course!).

 

One Sunday, Dan got to coach since Damon couldn't be there.
It was hard to tell who was more excited about this, Dan, Finley or Dagny (who got to warm up with the team).

 

 

Finley loved the competition and while he was probably the only kiddo who was actively keeping score, he never got too discouraged if his team was down.  He ran his little heart out each week and when the team was low on players, he did not mind staying in!!  He scored his fair share of goals and always played great defense.  All in all, it was a really fun experience for Finley and for us.
