Last week, we took a trip to VA and after a car ride, shuttle bus, and stroll through security at Logan - we arrived at our terminal and if it were up to the kids, we could have just stayed there for vacation!
Much to our surprise, an ice cream truck drove across the runway! Happy 4th of July to all the workers :)We hopped on the plane with the boys on one side of the aisle and the girls on the other, which was great so that both kiddos could have a window seat. This was Dagny's first flight in almost a year and the first that she needed her own seat. She screamed and yelled when it was time to buckle her seat belt, but quieted down quickly and remained happily seated for the whole flight!! Amazing!
She snuggled with her loveys and had a snack, but spent most of the time pretending to be my doctor. Yes. She gave me a check up with all her pretend doctor's equipment and then rubbed "sunscreen medicine" all over my arms and legs multiple times. Soon, it was time to land and I was in total awe of her calmness and the fact that she sat, buckled the entire flight!
On the way home, the flight was even easier (I didn't think that would be possible), but after take off - this happened:
After a while, I managed to wiggle my arm out from her grasp and lay her head down on Dan's extra shirt.
She slept for 90% of the ride and woke up just in time for landing and a snack. She earned her frequent flier miles for sure!! Oh and here are the boys, both wide awake, across the aisle!
We won't fly again until December, but this travel experience sure made me look forward to that next trip even more!!
