Dagny's 2nd Birthday Party

The weather forecast was for mid-80s and humid, what better weather for an backyard, wet and wild BBQ birthday party for Ms. Dagny!  We set up the water tables, pool, soapy water for the plastic house, opened the sandbox, and soon the guests arrived!
It was a lovely mix of friends from Dagny's class/school and family friends with kiddos of a similar age.  Plus, Aunt Caitlin, GG, and Grandpa came up from NY for the big event!! Finley was excited that Charlotte was coming since "she's big like me, mommy."  The two of them had a blast jumping in and out of our inflatable pool that was set up for the first time.
Dagny, on the other hand, was not interested in going for a swim and found fun elsewhere in the yard.
The highlight, though, was certainly turning on the Bubble Hurricane that was a gift from GG and Grandpa.  All the kids loved it!

Dan was busy grilling and soon it was time for lunch.  It was hard to interest any of the little kids in eating, but the grown ups ate well and Dagny had a least a few bites.
Then, she and I headed in to get the cupcakes!  Half beach cupcakes with teddy grahams on towels (on crushed up graham cracker "sand") and half ocean cupcakes with teddy bears in gummi ring innertubes and swedish fish.
Dagny LOVED them and immediately announced, "I want a sand one!"

We gathered everyone on the grass to sing to Dagny and she was rather impressed with it all.  The wind blew out the candle, but that was fine since Dagny was clearly counting the seconds until she could eat the bear right off the cupcake!
There she goes!

Finley requested an ocean one and Caitlin helped passed out cupcakes to all the kids.
All in all, a great party! We had fun with our friends and Dagny had fun with hers - Happy Birthday, Dagny!
Oh, and we managed to get a Tufts Ultimate photo before everyone left!
