Dagny is 2!!

Happy Birthday, Dagny!  We celebrated with a party last weekend, but today is the real day!  We've flipped her car seat facing forward and that is just one of the many milestones that show just how grown up this girl is.  Here are some photos from this morning before heading off to preschool camp, she sure looks 2, right?

We won't know her weights/measures until her check up in two weeks, but something tells me that she's grown like a weed in every imaginable way!  She's very articulate (just ask Grandpa who babysat both kids for two days a week ago or so!!) and wants to do things herself, her way.  I know we'll wish she wasn't so assertive when she hits puberty, but at 2 -- it's pretty cute and entertaining.  Here's a list of Dagny's top ten favorite things:

1. Favorite songs: Down in the Ground, Baby Beluga, Twinkle Twinkle, and both kids are obsessed with Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohn (aka "The Walking Song")
2. Favorite foods: grilled cheese, green beans, pesto pasta with tomatoes, popcorn, and yogurt smoothies
3. Favorite books: Make Way for Ducklings (must be read cover to cover), The Very Busy Spider, The Poky Little Puppy, Goodnight Gorilla, Goodnight Maine, and Where is the Green Sheep
4. Favorite outdoor activities: smashing sandcastles, drawing with sidewalk chalk, riding a tricycle, using soapy water on our plastic house, hunting for worms, carrying around her favorite blue shovel, and trying to play hockey on the driveway like Finley
5. Favorite basement activities: using Finley's big tonka trucks, pushing her baby around in the carriage,  taking all the cushions off the couch and then jumping up and landing on her bottom on it, doing obstacle courses with Finley, jumping really high on the trampoline, and playing messy backyard with us
 6. Favorite stuffed animals: Rocky and Hops (her 2 loveys), three penguins, and her husky dog
7. Favorite ways to torture Finley: giving hugs that never end unless she's physically pried off of him,
refusing to get dressed in the morning which severely delays us eating breakfast, and sitting too close to him on the couch and constantly wanting to trade spots
8. Favorite sayings: "I do it myself!" "What are you doooo-ing, Mama?" "Let's switch, okay?" "Watch this, Daddy!"

Okay...top 8!
Here are some cute photos Aunt Caitlin took with us at the pool last weekend.  Dagny in all her sunny, 2 year old glory!
What will the next year bring?? Let's hope for potty training :)
