While Finley is slowly but surely becoming a water bug in his later preschool years, Dagny has yet to become enthralled with swimming. That was until we got to the baby pool near my parents' lake house! This 1 ft deep circular pool was perfect for her and she LOVED being able to hop around on her knees and feet, float boats and ducks around, and splash all of us.
She was pretty amazing, even putting her entire face into the water and blowing bubbles! If she lost her footing or a wave from a bigger kid came along, she'd just pop up, wipe her hair out of her face and spit out any water she nearly swallowed. It was like she'd be in pools for months!!
Finley even enjoyed the shallow pool and had fun walking around on his hands (like a crab or a shark, he told us). In fact, all of us grown up liked sitting in the kiddie pool :)
During our second afternoon at the pool, Dagny was just as adventurous in the "circle pool" and had a blast.
Finley, Dan, and Granddad spent most of their time in the big kids pool but came to hang out with us gals before it was time to head back to the house.
