Happy 4 Month Birthday, Dagny!

This week, Dagny turns four months old.  Where did the time go? Actually, I think I know: sleepless nights, diaper changes, countless laundry loads, absorbing drool--need I go on?  But truth be told, all is well with Ms. D!
Dagny's four month check up was positive and uneventful and she happily squealed on the exam table and practiced her rolling skills (don't worry, I was spotting her!).  The pediatrician deemed her fit as a fiddle and was pleased with her growth since our last check up in September.

Dagny weighed in at 16 lbs 3 oz and she is now 25 inches long.

The appointment ended with four shots (one in each appendage), so while that was traumatizing for both of us--at least only one of us will remember it.  Here she is playing around while we waited for Dr. Simon to come in.
She has great eye contact, smiles and coos, turns when you call her name (most of the time), grasps and eats toys, and she's rolled both directions - though not frequently.  Dagny has a new sound effect, happy shrieks.  Finley's not sure what to make of these since he's not a fan of loud, unexpected noises--but he can see that she is smiling when she yelps and he tells me that she's "being happy, not sad."

Dagny continues to reveal just how different she is from her big bro, but the best example is how much she adores bath time.  I think it was many months before bathing Finley wasn't a dreaded task, but Dagny is a little water bug.  I've been trying to capture her bliss in there, but my hands are usually wet and Dan isn't a fan of nude baby photos/videos going public...but yesterday before her nap, I managed to get a little video taken "above the equator" and shows you just a little bit of how much fun she has in the tub--plus she hears her name and turns right to the camera :)
In other Dagny news, she was cleared by her doctor at MGH this week since her kidneys and all connective tubing is in perfect shape.  Insert giant sigh of relief.  Here she is hamming it up for the camera after her renal ultrasound.

Lots of changes to come in the months ahead as I will transition back to the teaching world in January and Dagny will join her brother at his "school" in the infant room...deep breath...stay tuned!
