As soon as he saw him, he said "Baby!" and I said, "yes, it's baby Joey. Can you say Joey?" and he did his best, saying, "dough-y." So cute! After waking up a bit more from his nap and snacking on a blueberry waffle, he was ready to check out Joey up close. Can you see the smile on his face? Love it!
While I was thrilled at his interest, I think he was equally or more fascinated with the button on Joey's car seat.
But he did gently rock the car seat for the little guy, saying "wocky-wocky" (in Finley speak for Rocky-Rocky which we say when he's on a seesaw or in a rocking chair).
I managed to get a video of the two boys (though one was sleeping) and if you listen really closely right at the beginning, you can hear Finley saying his new friend's name (with a waffle in his mouth).
We said goodbye to Joey and Gabi and promised to get together again next week. We played outside in the backyard after they left, but when we came back in Finley looked around saying, "Joey, Joey" in his cute toddler way "Doughy, Doughy." Much like after our visit from Eliot last week when Finley looked longingly at our extra high chair saying, "A-ot, A-ot." Kinda funny that he assumes all visitors are here to stay!
Welcome to the world, Baby Joey, we are so excited that you are here!
P.S. I am referring to him as "Baby Joey" since when Finley arrived, Charlotte referred to him as Baby Finley and continued to until recently. When asked what she wanted to name her little bro when he was still in his mom's tummy, she usually replied, "Baby Finley," despite her parents telling her that name was already taken. Now that Joey's the new baby on the block, perhaps Finley will just be known as Finley in Charlotte's world :)
