We hit the road early to get to Logan for a 9:30am flight to Virginia and the kids enjoyed waiting for the airplane as they usually do.
We changed planes in Dulles and our plane to Richmond was a tiny propellor plane and the kids were excited to get to walk on the tarmac to get on the plane. Can you see Finley's fave shirt was on again??Finley kept his eye on his little sister as they boarded the plane.
It was a quick flight and Grammy and Granddad were there waiting for us. Kids napped in the car and were ready for a swim as soon as we arrived so everyone but me jumped into the water off the dock at the house. The next morning, we took the boat over to one of the beaches and the kids couldn't wait to get in the water and my parents were sweet to join them immediately.
Hooray for summer!
My dad, the constant fisherman, was happy to take us out in the boat (Grammy kindly stayed back with Dags) and despite the drizzly weather -- we had a great time and great luck!
Finley was elated to see the fish my dad reeled in!And we watched him toss it back and swim away.
There were many fishing opportunities during our time at the lake and both kids caught some off the dock using real worms as bait :) A sign of a great fisherman is one who helps his guests catch fish and my dad certainly is a great fisherman!!
