Our sweet, spunky little Dagny turned 3 on July 3rd and we loved celebrating with her over and over! Summer birthday kiddos often feel slighted since they don't get a school birthday celebration and most of their friends are away on their birthday so parties are often minimal at best. But Miss Dagny was not slighted one bit this year! From a previous post, you saw that she had a great backyard birthday party with some of her closest pals and that was only the beginning of her birthday bonanza.
Since we were going to be flying to VA on her actual birthday (did I mention summer birthdays are tough??), we celebrated with dinner at her restaurant of choice (Oscar's Burritos) followed by ice cream. Pink ice cream fit the bill for a birthday cone and we enjoyed the summer evening air.
We opened family presents, too, and Dagny had fun seeing what her nearest and dearest chose to send her. She's been having fun with everything ever since!
She also got a fun owl themed comforter and sheet set from GG and Grandpa for her soon-to-be big girl bed!
The day of her birthday, we fly off to VA to spend the week with my parents at their lake house. Grammy made Dagny a beautiful (and yummy) flag cake that both kids loved.
Perhaps the summer birthday "curse" is more like a blessing :) Happy Birthday, sweet girl!
