Shabbat Helpers 2014, again

Funny to think that only 9 months ago, Finley and Dagny were the Shabbat helpers at preschool and this morning, it was their turn again! Last year, Finley was in Kofim and Dagny had only been in her class for a few months -- now Finley is in Parparim (biggest kids on campus) and Dagny is a school pro, running the show in her Doobim classroom. But here's a glimpse back:

GG and Grandpa drove up from NY yesterday and since only Grandpa was able to come last time, it was extra special to have GG with us for the kids big day at school.  I combined this school Shabbat with Finley's birthday book reading, so before Shabbat I set up a firetruck painting project in Finley's class and then we read one of his favorite books, The Gingerbread Man Loose on the Firetruck.
Dagny was lucky enough to get to hang out in her big brother's classroom and join the firetruck fun.
But then she wandered off to play elsewhere.
After cleaning up, the children sat down for a snack and I read the story to the class.  Finley was beaming throughout!
Then, it was time for the main event!!  Our two proud Shabbat helpers took their seats and the service began.

Not know what the other had chosen, both kiddos picked "Challah in the Oven" as their song.
"Challah in the oven,"
 "Gonna watch it RISE!"

Both Finley and Dagny got to walk around the Shabbat Dinosaur for all their friends to hug.

It was a lovely celebration and it was extra special to share it with GG and Grandpa!

Another Shabbat gem, this one was taken by my friend Emily when her daughter was the Shabbat helper earlier this year.
We hear that Dagny usually chooses to sit with her big brother at Shabbat instead of with her class.  Sigh :) Love that sibling love!
