Dagny has never been the most reliable napper in that she used to nap anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours, but now averages around 90 minutes on her best days. The tricky part is that sometimes she's wiped out after being awake for 2 hours and other days, she'll just go and go and go for hours on end before crashing in need of a nap. Today, we returned home from the Discovery Museum for lunch and then naps. Finley went down like a dutiful son for his cherished afternoon nap just after 2pm, while Dagny was happy as a clam to bound around downstairs.
She played her newest favorite game which is to put something, today it was her lovey, into a clear plastic tupperware bin and then take it out in complete elation.
Then, she rummaged around in our diaper bag and pulled out the sunscreen that she actually appeared to know how to use (pretend play, anyway). Gotta love her affinity for SPF, just like her mama!
The wandering around and playing with anything and everything continued for a while and then she cozied up to me on the floor next to the couch. She rolled back and forth, laughing herself (and me) completely silly.
She did eventually crash and I got a much needed break, but I have to say - it was fun to see her just having a good time and being her adorable, independent self :) I love that she's in full on toddler mode and seeming less like a baby these days!
