Last weekend, we attempted to attend not one but two local events. On Saturday, we went over to one of Arlington's elementary schools to check out their June Fair. We scoped out the scene and then bought a few tickets, which Finley gladly held onto.
First stop, the bouncy house obstacle course. Finley LOVED the one he got to play in at the Purim Carnival back in March so we knew he'd be all over this and he was! Dan, always a good sport, followed him in.
Finley was jumping all around and enjoyed falling as much as jumping! The nice guy running the show at the obstacle course kept out the big kids as long as he could, but Finley and Dan got ambushed right after my last photo but both recovered and managed to crawl out in one piece :)Not much else at the fair interested Finley but Dan humored him with our leftover tickets and helped him shoot some hoops. Getting basketballs into hoops WAY too far away for him to ever hit, by the way, but they had fun.
We headed over to the playground across the street afterwards, but sadly only got to stay for about ten minutes because we got a call from the moving truck guys saying they were on their way over. Our schedule is no longer our own, so we headed home ASAP.
The next morning, Dan and Finley left the house bright and early to check out Arlington's Annual Soap Box Derby that (according to their website and the numerous emails we received) was on from 7am to 5pm. Much to both boys dismay (Dan's probably more than Finley's, actually), nothing was happening when they arrived at 8 and nothing more happened by the time they had to leave at 9.
I hate false advertising, don't you? Good try, boys!
