Self Entertainment

Finley's finally coming around to the skill set of self-entertainment i.e. making his own fun.  More and more, he seems to be able to come up with ideas of how to play with his stuff (without relying on us to play with him)--often in unconventional ways.  This wonderful set of small books was a birthday gift that Finley enjoys reading, but has also found lots of other things to do with them.

Here, he "read" each book and then put them in a line.
He then called it a train and said, "chugga chugga" as he pushed it along.
When the train cars fell apart, he quickly changed gears to build a tower.
When it was complete, he looked up at me and said, "Look at that tower, Mommy!" Not bad, little guy, not bad!
